How to Find a Good and Affordable Video Creation Service

It is not easy at all to find a good and affordable service to create a viral video to promote your brand. The services are very few and rates are very high. A good way out is to search for a self-employed or freelance video creator throughout film making forums and communities. Join and participate - there are a lot of benefits you can get from them:

  • Build long-term relationships with truly creative people you will be able to turn to each time you need to spice up your promotional campaign;
  • Find inspiration by reviewing and rating others’ work: create unique advertising campaigns;
  • Promote your own video, ask for advice and recommendations.

The only time you will need to seek out a professional is when it comes to finding an experienced video search engine optimization company. This will save you time and money when it comes to creating exposure for your newly created video. Otherwise take a look at the great options out there.

You will see members reviewing each other’s movies (Video Critique section), discussing technical issues and tools (Video Editing forum), sharing news and articles (News board). The forum also contains a separate section for self-employed filmmakers called “Freelance” where you can search for a creative and reliable partner.

Filmmaking.net is another great forum uniting independent film makers under its roof. It is more oriented to creating movies and documentary than to discussing short viral videos and commercials. Wow, I’ve been looking for something like this for a while! I tried to Google a list like this and I just kept getting directed to big production companies that charged outrageous prices. This is perfect! Thanks!

As a freelancer who dabbles in video content I can say you usually get what you pay for–at least as far as production values go. The old rule for viral content used to be that a good idea trumped production value but I feel like that is quickly being eroded. As much as a video that looks to “slick” or corporate can be a turn-off one that is equally homebrew can be unsuccessful.

I’d recommend checking out sites like elance.com or geniusrocket.com that cater to lower cost freelance work.

These are great. Being located in Boston we are also spoiled with all the different art schools with plenty of aspiring videographers and film students that are always hungry to build their portfolio.
